Here’s the
newsletter for April. Spring has come with a vengeance! Everything has
turned green and the trees are blooming and leafing. Our vegetable
garden is in and growing. The lawns already need to be mowed as well.
It’s a wonderful time to be out and getting dirt under your fingernails.

Treasurer's
Report:
April
Treasurer's Report:
The Savings account balance for March 31, 2010 was $6505.39. An
interest of $2.17 was credited on April 1 to
leave a balance for
April 30 of $6507.56
The Checking
Account balance reported for March 31 as per the April meeting minutes
is $2134.88. I reviewed the check book register on April 21 and found a
total of $1.20 had not been deducted from the balance so the corrected
amount should be $2133.68. I deposited 1 membership receipts on April
21 to give as April 30 balance of $2143.68. The membership received
is for Honk Meyer which he had paid me at the March dinner and meeting.
Minutes of the
Missoula Iris Society - submitted by Jim Sadler
The meeting was called to order by President Ed Verplancke. Twelve
members were present. The meeting was held at Honk Meyer’s residence.
Minutes were approved as printed In the newsletter.
Swede Gustafson gave a report on the 1910 Fire exhibition at the Museum
at Fort Missoula, reminding everyone that MIS members can obtain
entrance for free by telling the ticket taker that you are a member of
MIS. The Treasurers report was approved as printed in the Newsletter.
President Ed Verplanke asked if we should declare the shed finished and
take all future repairs out of the repair account?
Donna Dowell moved that the shed be declared finished and any future
expenses be considered maintenance and further that the building account
be closed. Honk Meyer seconded the motion. The motion passed.
President Ed Verplanke then asked for a final report on the expenses for
the shed be given at the next meeting.
Betty Ann Gustafson, the Vice President and Show Chair stated that the
schedule has been typed and it had been submitted to AIS for approval.
She further stated that approval has been received from AIS.
As
a reminder she stated the show is June 12, 2010 at South Gate Mall. She
also stated that Roger Muir is the head judge.
Under new business, the Society thanked Donna Dowell for good work she
did as Historian for the past year.
